Cette semaine, pour notre programme de cinéma à l’Institut français d’Ecosse, le film Maestro de Léa Fazer était à l’affiche. Ce film est inspiré de la vie du coréalisateur de Maestro, Jocelyn Quivrin, et plus particulièrement de sa rencontre avec le réalisateur Eric Rohmer lors de son dernier film, Les amours d’Astrée et Céladon en 2006.
Cette comédie dramatique retrace donc l’histoire d’un jeune acteur novice, Henry, qui parvient enfin à sécuriser un rôle auprès d’un géant du cinéma, Cédric Rovere, et finit par se lier d’amitié avec ce réalisateur. Rovere intrigué par la personnalité d’Henry, vit ce tournage comme un cadeau inespéré.
This week for our regular weekly cinema programme, we offer you Maestro, a comedy-drama film directed by Léa Frazer. This movie is inspired by co-writer Jocelyn Quivrin’s personal life and more particularly by his encounter with late film director Eric Rohmer on the set of Romance of Astree and Celadon in 2006.
The movie retraces the story of a young novice actor, Henry, who eventually manages to secure a role with the cinema giant Cédric Rovere. Rovere intrigued by Henri’s personality lives this shoot as an unexpected gift. The two, despite the odds, will eventually form a strong friendship.
